“Gill’s understanding of shape, colour and design combined with her horticultural knowledge has had amazing results in my garden.  I particularly like the way that she worked very sensitively to take into account my own taste and to broaden my knowledge of plants and how to care for them.”

Anita Finsbury Park

“We love the garden – there is some new development every day. The cosmos are blooming, so is the climbing rose, the jasmine and the Achillea ‘Walther Funcke’… Please come and see the garden whenever you like!  Huge thanks and all best wishes.”

Chris & Mat Hackney

“I still can’t believe that the garden is mine when I see it first thing in the morning and knowing it’s only going to get better!”

L.A. Ladbroke Grove

“We finished the planting on Sunday morning and had our first viewings!  Everyone really loves it and you certainly fulfilled my dream of a country cottage garden, so thank you very much.”

C.B. Willesden

I think you have done a wonderful job and wanted to say thank you for all your hard work, dedication and love of the garden; you will need to come and visit often so you can see the fruits of your labour.

Mimi Northwood

“Thank you so much. The transformation is wonderful and it all happened very quickly – from one year to the next. Your planting plan has really worked. I can’t wait until all the shrubs and trees mature and the birds start coming to feed as there were hardly any when I arrived here a couple of years ago.”

Sue Mill Hill

“It was a pleasure working with Gill on our Northwood garden. She is the ultimate professional balancing her knowledge and expertise with the wishes of her client resulting in a garden of which everyone would be pleased and proud. From the start of seeing her beautifully drawn plans to the end of planting, we worked together in agreeing what would work best for the garden. We now have a garden that suits our needs and vision. We would recommend Gill for all your gardening design, large or small – you will be so happy you did.”

About Gill

A London based garden designer, I trained in horticulture, garden design and landscaping at Capel Manor College and have worked on projects ranging from town gardens and courtyards to rural planting schemes and community gardens.

I see myself essentially as a garden maker and my love of plants and good design motivates me to help others achieve the best they can from their outdoor spaces. From an early age I was inspired by my father who was also a keen gardener. I went on to study painting and follow careers in fashion and teaching, but gardening has always been my abiding pleasure and interest, so a career in garden design was a natural progression for me.

I enjoy working closely with clients and getting to know them well, so that I can use my experience, plant knowledge and eye for shape and colour to create the gardens that they want rather than impose my own ideas. My philosophy is based on creating stylish but practical gardens that are in tune with nature and their surroundings and I believe strong design and thoughtful planting are key to this process. I can offer advice, planting plans or a complete design service. My aim is to make gardens that look good all year round, whatever the style; gardens that will continue to bring joy long into the future.
